WHO WE ARE
Nestled in the shadow of the Sierra Nevadas in the beautiful Carson Valley there lives a group of exceedingly daft people. We habitually indulge in activities such as running and shouting, tripping over hoses, rakes and hay bales, and chasing after creatures having four legs to our two who out-pace us by at least 15 miles per hour.
We are sheep dog trainers. Our longsuffering instructor is Ms. Sandy Moore of Gardnerville, Nevada, a trainer of many years' experience in several canine disciplines, including obedience and agility. She has rubbed shoulders with - and stood in the winner's circle with - some of the brightest lights in the competitive dog world, and yet remains a cheerful, humble, remarkably patient soul who is clearly in love with her work. For quite a number of years she has chosen to devote the greater part of her energies to yet another sport: sheep herding.
Sandy excels with virtually every breed to cross her path, from Border Collies to Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds to Rottweilers, Cattle dogs to Canaan dogs - and they all love her. Furthermore, she shares her skills and abilities with us, her human students and friends, and over the years we have become almost family. We have shared wins and losses, joy and heartache, hard times and celebration, and always with our gaggle of furry friends at our feet.
This is our little home on the net, our bulletin board and gathering place. If you are a newcomer and have questions about dog training, instinct testing, or you're just curious when the next local herding trial might be, you are encouraged to contact Sandy for answers. Just be patient - odds are she's outside working with her dogs or a student when you call, but she'll get back to you soon as she can.
